TEAGHAN MILLS
BASLC
Head Coach
Coach Teagz has been actively involved in the sport of swimming for the majority of her life. She began competing at the age of seven and in 2019 transitioned to coaching. Since taking on the Head Coach role Teaghan has had the privilege of coaching athletes to state-level competitions, contributing to junior talent clinics, and recently commentating at National carnivals.
She graduated from high school in 2020, and was an active participant in the Aquatic Sports Development Program. During her secondary education, she also completed a Certificate II and III in Sport and Recreation. Through these qualifications Teaghan had the opportunity to work alongside the Education Department at both Life Saving Victoria and Sailing Australia. She later pursued further studies at Victoria University, completing her qualification as a Learning Support Officer (Teacher’s Aid). She is enthusiastic about continuing to support and inspire the next generation of swimmers at Boronia and look forward to working collaboratively with all members of our club community.
LACHLAN TILLEY
BASC
Head of Transition
Lachie began swimming as a youngster as most of the athletes do at our club and had the chance to compete in many competitions including being a finalist at a State Competition level. His favourite events were 50m Fly and 100m Fly. Lachlan has successfully transferred his passion of swimming to be able to teach and push the up and coming swimmers to achieve results they're aiming for. He started off as a learn to swim teacher to understand the basic technique in all 4 strokes and wanted to push himself more. Lachlan wanted to be challenged more with competitive swimming once again and see many swimmers achieve their goals. He is now a licenced development coach and seeking to expand his skill set with more opportunities with the swimmers and mentors in Victoria. His second job as support worker allows him to adapt for different needs of athletes including those with specialised needs. It’s a big focus his to have all swimmers feeling accepted and at home. Something he strives for at Boronia is having a strong community that builds relationships that last a lifetime.
WANLI LIU

Lily is a former member of the Chinese National Swimming Team and achieved National Master Athlete status in the 200m breaststroke and 400m individual medley. She holds a degree in Sports Training from Beijing Sport University, where she developed comprehensive knowledge in swimming through studies in sports psychology, biomechanics, and related fields. She also completed an instructional internship at Tsinghua University’s Sports Department. After relocating to Melbourne, Lily co-founded JL Swimming Swim School. Over the past four years, the school has successfully trained numerous students who have progressed to leading swimming clubs. She values JL’s collaboration with Boronia Penguins Swimming Club, built on aligned goals and a shared commitment to development. Currently, Lily coaches competitive swimming at Boronia Penguins Swimming Club, focusing on technical skill enhancement. Her coaching approach helps students improve performance efficiently, gain clarity in their development path, and build confidence through technical mastery.
TARYN MILLS
BASLC
Development Coach
Tazzie Mills is new to the coaching world, but swimming has been a big part of her life ever since she was little. She swam competitively until she was 14, and now super excited to be stepping into the new role as a junior coach with the Boronia Penguins. She has always loved all things swimming and is now focussed on passing on that love for swimming, and helping our swimmers grow not just in skill, but as people too. It is important to her that not only do our swimmers learn and develop but explore their love of swimming as well as other sports and activities. She is super excited to learn new things with our swimmers and coaches and welcome all penguins old and new.
